According to statistics, from 1979 to 2013, the amount of fertilizer used in China increased from 10.86 million tons to 59.12 million tons.
In short, the problem of soil degradation in China is already very serious, and it is impossible to recuperate the soil through fallow cultivation. The amount of fertilizer used is too large, and the proportion of organic fertilizer application is extremely low, resulting in a lack of carbon in the soil.
According to the Action Plan for Zero Growth in Fertilizer Use by 2020 issued by the Ministry of Agriculture, it is proposed to achieve zero growth in fertilizer use by 2020.
The 13th Five Year Plan adopted by the Fifth Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China proposes to adhere to the strictest farmland protection system, adhere to the red line of farmland, implement the strategy of "storing grain in the land and storing grain in technology", and increase grain production capacity. Among them, replacing chemical fertilizers with bio organic fertilizers is an important way.
Bioorganic fertilizer refers to a compound fertilizer containing specific functional microorganisms and organic materials that have undergone harmless treatment and decomposition (sourced from animal and plant residues such as livestock manure and crop straw), which has both microbial fertilizer and organic fertilizer effects.
Biofertilizers can effectively utilize nutrients in the soil, increase crop yield, reduce fertilizer application, and improve fertilizer utilization efficiency, with a very broad development prospect.
